Creating A Colouring Page

I’ve decided that I’m going to create my own colouring page, based off the research that I’ve done. I think I’m going to do multiple colouring pages, with different levels of detail to them. Then, I’ll get feedback based on the people I give them to and see what they think of them, as well as how the drawing looks after i give it to them to colour in.

Here’s the first one that I created. I decided to draw a couple flowers and leaves since a lot of colouring pages include those. I felt like the background felt empty, so I added some circles to it.

To make these colouring pages, I first created a sketch using the brush tool, then used the lasso tool to create a silhouette of the things I want to add. Then, I go over it with the lasso tool to remove the things that would get coloured in, leaving the outline. I colour it in black with the bucket tool and add any missing details with the lasso tool, then finally getting rid of the colour from the silhouette.

I gave this to my younger brother, since he uses a lot of colouring books to get his opinion of it. Here’s the result of him colouring it in:

He said that he liked colouring it in, which sounds like a success for me.

Here’s the second colouring page that I made. For this one, I decided to draw something more complicated that had more detail. I drew the bottom of a tree with mushrooms in front of it. I also added mushrooms on the tree itself. I didnt like the original spot the mushrooms were in, so I moved them to a different spot.
