For this project, I have chosen the colour Red. I chose it because it’s my favorite colour and I like to work with red overall. My theme is horror inspired, I thought of it immediately when I chose my colour. It fit really well, therefore I stuck with this theme. My ideas were generated together with my theme, it changed from a cyberpunk/tech to horror as it can be seen from my first pieces of work from June/July. Some developments in my ideas came from the materials I decided to use and from what I did last year. So far I researched an artists named Ilo Kunst. I like the way this artists uses basic ballpoint pens to create his artwork. Another artist I’ve researched is Alexandros Pyromallis or “Ink Rituals”. This artists uses fine liners and pens to create his art that is inspired by popular thrillers, horror movies and death metal groups. They have inspired my specialism and the way I draw/my theme. Some other research that I’ve done has been looking at printmaking techniques and what the best materials and resources for Fine art are. I intend on using Ballpoint pens, lino, ink, markers and pencils. I’m thinking of focusing on lino printmaking the most, I’m how I can use horror theme in such a precise medium. I’ll try to experiment with how much detail I can create both with lino prints and ballpoint pens. As for the final outcome, I’m yet quite unsure, but I am thinking of making a print or a piece containing multiple prints.
