Overall this project was a great experience for me personally, Because this project made me work hard and showed me my limits. I learnt: .The importance of organization .Multiple ways to organize some aspects of timings like planning in pre production .Hazards that can occur whilst shooting our scenes
Task 1 Research and idea development: Within my research I believe I looked at the correct place to gain influence. The Retail Store Argos helped me decide between my age range and style I wanted my advert to put forward. After viewing there advert I gained influence by the way Argos advertises there toys for young girls and boys. Which initiated the idea of mixing multiple aspects and ideas in 1 advert. As my first project I believe I should have widened my view to other companies that could have advanced my ideas and also research. Which would have helped in the upcoming ideas and eased the editing process via the range amount of ideas. Within my ideas I made a online mood board and also drew a spider diagram to shape my ideas. It seemed good at the present moment but looking back I can see going into detail step by step is a key aspect I should have accomplished. For this to no longer happen i plan to make multiple mood boards on multiple ideas and understand my view and outlook and also do more research on other companies and widen my ideas and options. The best choice I made in my idea development was I searched my audio earlier and also made a folder on the free stock footage and the background footage I required. At the moment I switched my ideas, this folder helped me bring in stock free footage. Within this looking at other students some did not have there audios present before the clips where placed in there timelines which caused them some time loss. One last thing I’ll point out is that my research was not so deep. I believe it was not necessary to go into so much deep research as my goal was to mix multiple ideas and aspects into 1 edit. Due to this idea i went through my research thoroughly to extent i believe i needed. But referring back i realised maybe i didnt have to go into deep research but i should have at least viewed more companies.
Task 2 Pre – Production And Production: As a group we planned and scheduled our day. We written the shots we planned to take before hand, But our plan proceeded to turn into ruins. One of our group members took a few shots reducing the timetable which brung forth a huge gap into our slots. For this we planned for another group member to take charge filling the time gap in taking there shots and videos of the product. This act saved us plenty of time from staying out and filming for longer than we were required. Next project I plan to help my group organize and design a backup timetable for any upcoming problems. So for Example if anyone cuts the time short by taking less shorts we have a backup from one of the members. In my Opinion the production went great. Not only we had fun but I took more than enough shots to form together and edit my advert. Because of this we had ideas on what we planned our edits to look like. However the radius to our locations was kept short to why next time personally I will add nearby locations as part of my research. Because of this I believe some shots came out worse than other pictures as our locations was limited and same in other shots.
Task 3 Post Production and Delivery: Post Production was the compelling part of the research for me. This is the section I kept falling at. I had to change my plan up and retreat to my backup plan which seemed fit for my edit. Within my editing from the beginning of the project I used my imagination and planned to make a fast pace edit. As I decided to upload my advert to YouTube, I thought of a viewer’s perspective of an advert. The viewer would feel annoyed for a 2 minute advert that was slow to why I made a 1 minute advert but fastened my shots and removed any transitions. I removed the transitions which were replaced with the movements of long shots, close up shots instead. But on the other hand I believe if I made a logo to place on the corner it would smarten up my edit. The best advantage having a logo can give you is your edit would look more professional. To why if I could go back I’d make a logo. Another act I thank myself for was the green screen backgrounds I added and also my captions. My mind looked upon JD and Sports ads to where I formed my caption “Be Hot” “Be Cute” “Be Stylish” Be Sexy” “Be You” “Get yours for one pound only”. This was one of my best qualities during this whole entire project. I was able to go deep into my imagination and pull an amazing idea out. Because of this I believe my confidence levels increased and made me believe in myself more. The most important requirement id fulfill if I could go back would be thorough research into my idea and my item and the themes linking to the item. As having a wide span of view can make your editing and project journey easier.
Feedback: My presentation was descriptive and informative. Maybe next time I could slightly talk more of my motive.
My Weaknesses that occurred: .Not organizing to my full capabilities .Unable to be more sufficient with my idea at the start .Unable to go through the brief thoroughly at the start .Being less open to other companies and there ideas
What went well: .Being able to use my imagination to make backup ideas and plans .Taking my time with my production and taking more than enough shots and sharing amongst other group members with less numbered shots .Using my past Experience with editing to the advantage .Taking care for my group most of the time during the production process
