As shown above this is my group’s ideas so far, For now we have come to the decision of the name of our show. Intro, Outro and our ideas for 3 different segments. In the upcoming moments we will decide on which segment we find the best to include and which segments and ideas are okay to be dismissed.
Idea 1:
Game Show: The idea of the game show consists of 2 Contestants, In the game show each player will be asked a question, This show will be scripted. Meaning the winning participant and the losing participant will be decided before hand. The challengers will be given a set of 20 Questions, Whoever is scripted to get an answer right will be given 10 Points. For the winning opponent, They will win Monopoly Money. This segment will last around 15-20 Minutes long.
Idea 2:
Public Q&A: The Public Q&A is a Question and Answers in the public. This Segment includes the CameraMan and the Host going out and asking people questions either based of life events or Possibility Questions or maybe fact checks. The presented segment will last around 10 minutes. The location for this segment will be based in Leeds City Centre where me and the host will go around and ask questions to the members of the public.
Idea 3:
News Broadcast in a classical style: The title pretty much shows what the idea will be about. In this Segment. i plan to host, Will be a short clip around 5-6 Minutes long presenting the news in an old fashion way. For this i will need to research on events taken place in the 19th Century and mix them with smaller events taken around the similar timings and present them in 1 segment. This segment will require me to dress in old fashioned clothing or either plain clothing to look suitable to the audience.
Final Decision:
My group and I have come to the decision to choose the game show and the public Q&A for our Project. We plan to go forward with the initial plan of the game show and the Q&A segment and bring forward a great show for our audience. We made these decisions because we believe the two ideas combined as one would not only be a great source of entertainment, But also bring a lengthy show with 2 ideas that fit together perfectly. One reason why we considered not to go with the news broadcast was because the segment would be very short and less entertaining than the game show and the Public Q&A combined together. Maybe it would be cool, But it would have a less effect on the audience than our finalised idea.
We plan to ask a set of 20 Questions between the 2 Competitors, Each competitor will have an option of ABC and D, Including the public aid option. The Public Aid option is where the Q&A mixes into the game show. Based of our ideas. We plan to ask the public the same question the contestants will be scripted to answer. So if the public can answer the question right and the contestant chooses for the Public Aid, The contestant gains 10 Points. On the other hand if the public answer the question wrong, The contestant neither looses or wins any points.
19/01/2023 (Update)
The current position of my group is we have our ideas and plans together, We faced issues with the crew as we was low in number. Due to this issue we plan to bring along 2 performing arts students to fill in the role for Participant 2 and Host for our game show.
at the present moment these are the filled and vacant positions:
- Director: Yousef
- Vision Mixer/ Graphic Designer: Harley
- Camera Operator 1 : Omar
- Camera Operator 2/Floor Manager: Abbas
- Camera Operator 3: Usman
- Participant 1: P.A Student
- Participant 2: P.A Student
- Host: P.A Student
Next Steps:
The next steps needed is the missing playback which will be my role, With the director Yousef who will be the presenter in the clips taken on Sunday, we will be travelling to Leeds to film the Q&A we plan to bring with the game show.
Recording Playback Clips:
Me and the director Yousef travelled to Leeds to record our Public Q&A. We successfully found a teenager and asked 2 questions. The difficulties on we faced where finding people. The public seemed anxious or too occupied to be approached and when approached the members of the public did not want to record with us. Due to this issue I had to act as the second person to be asked questions. What went well about our experience was we were able to come out our comfort zones and learn more about ourselves. And on the other hand learn how to operate a camera
Here Below is the footage to our experience:
