Section 1: Rationale (approx. 100 words) |
When I’d originally joined the college I chose to do performing arts but later on joined music. I made this decision because I had more of a connection to the music side of my work than the acting or dancing. For this project I didn’t have as much time due to personal issues but I’ve put in enough effort to produce something I think is good enough and will hopefully be something people can listen to and enjoy. I chose to use a premade beat and sing my own lyrics over it because I didn’t have much time to do anything else or have the facilities I needed to produce my own beats. I think in the future I will continue a musical career and try to produce more and explore the mixing and recording aspects of work. |
Section 2: Project Concept (approx. 200 words) |
This project has helped me find a sense of creativity and production in myself and allowed me to explore factors I didn’t know were possible in music I explored techniques and different styles I could have used to perform my piece. I’d much rather have preffered making my own background music rather than using premade beats. I researched pop artists and a few bands, such as Loote,Dua Lipa, Maroon 5,Justin Beiber and Lady Gaga – by researching these artists, I gained a sense of knowledge of the music I wanted to create, this became my biggest inspiration for this project. By completing this work, I feel as though making an online platform and posting the productions on there would benefit me and also help me grow as a creator myself. By studying through many different beats I feel as though I’ve developed a more complex approach to the work and the skills I have gained. By using a premade beat and creating my own lyrics, I’ve decided to record my voice over the music and prepare a YouTube video and post it and gain evaluations from other producers or creators who see the video and listen to the music, and gradually create more and improve from this project as it is my first time doing such a thing. |
Section 3: Evaluation (approx. 50 words) |
All process of the project will be documented onto my digital space and I will upload all rehearsals, pictures of lyric writing and record any work that needs to be uploaded onto my portal. By doing this, I’ll be able to research through my work and improve my skills and overcome any issues or problems in the future with my work. I have worked with a few other musicians such as Faith Roberts and an outside of college friend Eiji- both who helped me develop lyric writing ideas. |
