Evaluation of rehearsals :

From my perspective, I think the rehearsals went really well and as a band we improved a lot for our first performance together. We did have a rough start because of me not being in as much, but we pulled through and continued to rehearse even with the inconveniences. The vocals could’ve been better since the songs weren’t rehearsed well and I barely knew the lyrics by heart, I could’ve spent more time learning the songs and trying to get the right pitch and tone so I wasn’t out of tune or sync when singing. The instrumental part of the band did amazing and they improved greatly over each rehearsal, and with more and more practice they grew confident in the songs. I feel if we could’ve chosen better songs that we all felt comfortable doing, and if the band worked together more and communicated, the rehearsals would go very smoothly and much better than the Christmas performance.

Evaluation of performance :

The performance was a little confusing because of having to switch bands and record it on camera instead of to a live audience, however it was still a fun experience. We started off greatly with Millie as a backup singer, but I feel like I could’ve improved on that song because my vocals were too off and didn’t work well with the songs chosen. The only song I think went moderately well was Jingle Bell Rock because I was familiar with the song and it wasn’t ‘new’ to me. The overall performance went great and when it came to the final group perfomance, it felt great to be part of a team and to perform onstage with all the other members of music, we all enjoyed ourselves and had a bit of a laugh and I think it’s great that we managed to pull of a performance even without an audience, we struggled a bit due to the pandemic and losing a few people to covid and having to stay home, but we pulled off an amazing performance and I am proud I could participate.
