A Stage manager meets an act’s concert requirements, the stage manager distributes stage plans to stage crew and venue management. He coordinates stage crew activities and assists with or supervises stage preparation including unloading, setup and positioning of concert stage elements, such as instruments, equipment or background sets. If he sees a health, safety or logistics issue, he works with the act and venue management to modify the plans. He also makes certain that an act receives everything requested for backstage facilities, such as specific beverages or food.

Before

  1. Know how many people are in each band.
  2. Know what instruments everybody plays.
  3. Make sure we have every bit of equipment we need.
  4. Make sure every bit of equipment is set up and organised.
  5. Know the capacity of seats needed and placed out.
  6. Learning the role of stage manager.
  7. Setting up the stage.
  8. Help out the lighting and sound manager.

During

  1. Make sure guitars are in tune between each set.
  2. Make sure every act is ready to go.

After

  1. Make sure to pack away all the equipment as well as the stage and seats.
  2. Evalute the whole process from start to finish.
