Director TV broadcast


A television director is in charge of the activities involved in making a television program or section of a program. They are generally responsible for decisions about the editorial content and creative style of a program, and ensuring the producer’s vision is delivered.

Television directors are a vital component in the production process of TV shows, as theyadvise actors on their performances, coordinate camera angles and meet with producers to ensure they are capturing the overall style and tone of the series.

Skills\ Responsibilities

  • They have to be well manage and organised
  • they have to show and talk to the cast about their vision and what they have in their minds
  • Video Camera

A video camera is the centerpiece of your filmmaking gear package. What camera you choose depends on your budget, the type of shooting you’re doing (static, stealth, run-and-gun, etc.) and where you plan to showcase your film (web-only, theater, broadcast, etc). You can shoot a documentary on anything from your iPhone to a DSLR to a top of line digital cinema camera such as the RED. Whatever camera you choose, make sure you capture excellent audio. 

  • Camera Light

Sometimes a nice pop of light from the camera can help fill in ugly shadows. A camera light is a nice accessory to have especially in a documentary/news style shoot where you might not have time for a full 3-point lighting set-up.

Shotgun Microphone

Great audio often separates the pros from the amateurs. Having a shotgun mic prepares you for almost every situation. It’s perfect for setting on top of your camera or a boom pole.

Producer

A television producer is a person who oversees one or more aspects of video production on a television program. Some producers take more of an executive role, in that they conceive new programs and pitch them to the television networks, but upon acceptance they focus on business matters, such as budgets and contracts.

Producers dont need any specific equipment for their jobs but they do need contacts and a team

  • They have to be very organised and have leadership,
  • For producers they need also to communicate to the director and other people in their working environment
  • Being able have a big budget and contacts

Motion Graphic artist

Motion Graphics Designers, sometimes referred to as MoGraph professionals, use visual effects and animation to create artwork for: television, film, tech devices, software, live-video, video games, applications, and the web.

  • you need a good pc and good internet connection to do the work on home to do your job or online or to do it also in home.
  • you have to be a good listener to understand what the director is asking you to do
  • You have to communicate with the other people you’re working with as well to share ideas
