Task 1: Research and Development

I did research some very different type of ads but both do very good promotion of their product in a very different way but both are very effective, I choose this adds because they are very popular and the audience liked them a lot,I personally also like them. So it was fun to explore them.

The first one is a very energetic and well directed, is about a fizzy drink “Thumbs up”, they promoted the fizzy drink using very energetic and thrilling a scenes, making this ad look like a movie full of thrill and emotions, The director is FAROUK ALJOFFERY and the main actor is SHAH RUKH KHAN the other character that appears with the drinks is Mohammad Samad

In both Adds the target audience are Teenagers.

This add was very popular in south India because the main character is a very popular Indian Actor Shah Rukh Khan, and they did a really god job that attracted to a lot of young people because of the action scene, thrill, Background music, and Action scenes it has, another reason is that it is the first action scene that Shah Rukh Khan does after a very long break, the ad went viral for more than a month!! (This is not the full ad)

The camera Position variated a lot in the ad . The ad sometimes showed a full shot and long shot and also a close up shot in the end and beginning of the ad

This add communicates you that to be as cool as the main character ( Shah Rukh Khan) you have to drink that fizzy drink that they are advertising its gonna make you look better and feel better, so if you wanna be as cool as an action hero you have to consume that Fizzy Drink( ThumsUp).

At the beginning we can see that they used close shot to present you to the main character 0:05 ,The film begins with Khan sitting in a cinema hall, disguised in a hoodie amidst the crowd. The big screen is screening a movie starring him. When the server comes around with cans of Thumbs Up,in the whole frist part they use a close shot till 0:08 after that they use a full shot showing the whole scenario

They used the full shot to show the place he was and how he was attacking the other guys that were with him in the train’s roof using a long shot after that he enters to the train and the use a close shot starting in 0:17 till 0:24 showing the whole action scene and then they use a medium shot in 0:25 and finally in the end of the Film sequence they frist use a Very close shot 0:28.

This next ad I chose is about another Fizzy drink Mountain Dew the main character is HIRTHIK ROSHAN, The director is VINEET SHARMA And producer is PEPSI COLA.

This add is very energetic and thrilling aswell as the last one but in a very different way, in this ad we can observe how the actor HIRTHIK ROSHAN is about to do a Stunt with a Dirt bike, this ad was short but full of energy this add was very popular in the time that it come out audience loved it, the background music, the direction, camera angle, and scenes make it a very catchy and interesting add for the audience that was viral for a weeks!

In both ads theres a lot of action and the scenes are very professional and they look like a movie, they are full of energy and catchy scenes and dialogues, On this one we can see how the stunt man (Hirthik Roshan) jumps of a cliff after, drinking Mountain Dew communicating that if you drink that you’ll be cool, fearless, and Brave

We can se Hirthik at the beginning of the ad preparing him self for the stunt, they use a long shot 0:00 till 0:02 to show the place they are in and then we can see a close shot to the face of the Actor in 0:03 after that Hirthik is Talikng with a Guy that is holding hes helmet in that shot we can see that they used a medium shot showing hes clothes 0:12 they used a full shot showing how Hirthik Roshan is riding hes bike prepared for the stunt, 0:13 till 0:15 the use a close shot to hes face, showing him taking hes sunglasses, 0:16 till 0:17 they use a extreme close shot to his throat so we can see how nervous Hirthik is, 0:18 till 0:20 is a close shot, then 0:20 till 0:21 is extreme close shot showing him picking a Mountain Dew drink, 0:21 till 0:22 he finishes with hes Mountain Dew and wears hes helmet for the stunt, the director says Action 0:23 till 0:24 and Hirthik speed with hes Bike, then they show a extreme full camera shot showing hirthik speedo with hes bike towards the end of the edge for hes jump 0:24 till 0:39 he manages to successfully do the stunt after being very close to fall, proceeded to that he celebrates on 0:40 and they use a close shot to show that, finallyzing with a close shot on 0:41 till 0:44 advertising the Fizzy Drink in his hann “Darr ke aage jeet hai” translates to Victory is beyond fear.

The both adds are communicating, how energetic and good is the fizzy drink that they are taking, it is communicating too the audience how good the drinks are, obviously it’s in a very exaggerated way but both of them are very entertaining and energetic, they communicate to the audience that you can be as cool as them, or the fizzy drinks can make you feel like in the adds,

Drinking ThumsUp you ca feel like a super spy like you can fight against anyone, that you can do anything, is shows in he ad that after you consume the drink it can make you feel unstoppable.

Mountain Dew add it communicates, when you drink it makes you more brave makes you fearless, it gives you energy and courage to do anything.

In both of the adds you can see clearly that they exaggerate a lot, but thats normal in adds its about making them energetic and catchy and you making the audience feel attracted to the product, and increase more the selling.
