Project 1 Short film lvl3- task 2

equipment I used

I mainly used my phone because it can record on 4k, and we didn’t have that much time, for me to book a camera and record all the scenes I wanted to, because I want my short film to be about 10 minutes so its more comfortable for me to use my phone because is always with me, and easy to use, next time I’ll try to use one of the cameras because they’re more professional, and they have a better quality.

bad things about my phone is that it’s hard to record the shots stable, there is always some shaking and movement, and some times for some certain rooms or places that can be more dark, it loses a lot of quality.

My phone is a Samsung galaxy S 20 Ultra 5g

The Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G is the South Korean electronics giant’s latest S-series top-end model and comes with a huge 6.9-inch AMOLED display, a high-end Exynos 990 chipset (Snapdragon 865 in the USA), and a massive 5000 mAh capacity battery. The S20 Ultra packs more photographic possibilities compared to its S20 and S20 Plus sister models, with a quad-camera configuration that features a time-of-flight (ToF) depth sensor, a higher-resolution sensor, and a longer focal length tele-camera.The standard-wide camera offers an updated version of the 1/1.33-inch 108 MP-resolution sensor we saw on the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro, with 3×3 pixel for a final 12 MP image output, as well as a dedicated 108 MP mode. The primary sensor is coupled to a standard wide-angle 26mm-equivalent lens with f/1.8-aperture. The tele-camera features a 103mm periscope-style f/3.5-aperture lens with a native 4x optical zoom, and 10x “hybrid-zoom” images combine data from the 48 MP tele- and 108 MP standard-wide sensors. Both standard-wide and tele-cameras also feature phase-detection autofocus (PDAF) and optical image stabilization (OIS). The ultra-wide camera utilizes a 13 mm f/2.2-aperture lens and 12 MP sensor, making it both lower resolution and not as wide as Samsung’s previous S10+ model. Finally, for stills, a 0.3 MP depth sensor with ToF 3D technology for improved bokeh simulation in portrait mode makes up the fourth camera in the S20 Ultra’s quad-cam configuration. For video, the 108 MP sensor enables 8K capture at 24 fps, and there’s a lower resolution 4K at 30/60 fps setting, or up to 960 fps at 720p. HDR10+ promises improved dynamic range, color, and contrast in video processing, and both EIS and OIS stabilization are available in all of the S20 Ultra’s video formats.Read on to find out how the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G performed under the brand-new version 4 of the DXOMARK Camera test protocol.

I can’t really, upload all the scenes and bloopers here because it doesn’t let me, but I recorded the some secenes a few time from different angels just so I can add a variety of different angles and make the scenes more professional, organised and not repetitive,

EDITING/ Recording

CapCut, formerly Jianying in China, is a free video-editing app. This app allows users to make their video “look professional”[1] The application allows the user to cut, reverse, change the speed, transitions, add music, apply funky stickers, add text, and more.Sensor Tower reports that the app has received over 250 million installs worldwide from the App Store and Google Play, with nearly 9.5 million from US app stores.[2]Jianying, CapCut’s Chinese sibling, has had success among Douyin users. That pattern is now being repeated outside of China, with TikTok users using CapCut. According to analytics firm Sensor Tower, CapCut has been the No. 1 free app on the US App Store since May 21, and it currently ranks ninth on Google Play in the US. According to App Annie, it ranks first among free iOS apps in 33 countries worldwide.[2]CapCut and Jianying are both free to use and do not require any in-app purchases. However, many of the app’s users appear to be more concerned with functionality.[3]

I used the b13 room in Lister building for recording my audio, that was about narrating the short film, I took a test shot for my short film, to see how I can improve and how I want to do this, we used a microphone that Karl gave me, because we couldn’t use the studio professional microphone, I’m not sure wich microphone it was, but It could only be heard from one side of the headphones, which was weird and didn’t convince me a lot, because later on I had to do more editing.

After recording in the studio at b13 Lister building, the audios we exported were about 9:45 seconds long, and I expected more, but I was very satisfied with my work, I managed to record everything it took me a whole day, and also had to re record some parts to pronounce it well and act in various different emotions ro reflect the characters emotions in the film, which required alot of voice acting and very precise pronunciation of each word I was reading with the adequate tone, I was in the studio with some friends for help and support, so I can recive help and advice of more people that understand media, and were doing a short film aswell, which was very helpful,

so after finishing with everything I exported the audios and sended them to myself, but what happened is that I couldn’t hear myself, the audios did had sound but it wanst coming out, so my editing part got very delayed, and and had to finsjb everything on one week, because I couldn’t edit or proced with my project, which taught me to be more cautious next time and be able to deal with the problem and always make sure that I have what I need and is ready to be used and edit, Lewis cam on Monday and at 4:10pm we went to try to get the audios back and we managed to, so it left me with only one day left to edit and finsj my short film.

I used 60s old songs to create and atmosphere and ambient that really gives this peaceful and calm amotions and transfers them to the audience, also to make a more sad or either serious scene, the lyrics are the main reason why u chose to use this songs in my short film, and th tunes and instruments and beatiful aswell,I did had to re do some certain parts like adding the tittle of the movie at the beginning of the short film, because I wanted to add it at the end but I decided to add it in both begging and end of the short film. I tried to record my whole short film on 4k, but theres still some certain scenes that are low quality, I should have used a professional camera, I’ll hopefully do that for my next project.
