In my podcast i would like to talk about the LGBTQ phobia, because I feel like its very important topic that everyone should be aware of, I will mention and talk about Hate crimes that happen in UK and Bradford, and how the majority of people don’t report them because they’re scared, i will also talk about the difficulties we face in society like, discrimination, homophobia and also many people don’t get jobs and health care, I can talk about personal experiences i had with homophobia and discrimination i had, and also that we don’t receive that man support with our mental health as teenagers, get some information about demographics of LGBTQ Phobia in the UK, I can Interview someone that has experienced this or if they can talk about their opinion, and finally ending up with talking about LGBTQ Phobia in Bradford and Bradford college.

The podcast will be very professional and serious but entertaining

  • One in eight LGBT people (13%) have experienced some form of unequal treatment from healthcare staff because they’re LGBT.
  • Almost one in four LGBT people (23%) have witnessed discriminatory or negative remarks against LGBT people by healthcare staff.
  • One in seven LGBT people (14%) have avoided treatment for fear of discrimination because they’re LGBT.
  • Seven in ten trans people (70%) report being impacted by transphobia when accessing general health services.
  • Nearly half of trans people (45%) said that their GP did not have a good understanding of their needs as a trans person, rising to over half of non-binary people (55%).
  • 90% of trans people reported experiencing delays when seeking transition-related healthcare.
  • Trans people of colour also experienced transphobia from trans-specific healthcare providers at more than double the rate of white respondents (13% compared to 6%)
  • One in 10 LGBT people (10 per cent) who were looking for a house or flat to rent or buy in the last year were discriminated against because of their sexual orientation and/or gender identity
  • One in six LGBT people (17 per cent) who visited a café, restaurant, bar or nightclub in the last 12 months have been discriminated against based on their sexual orientation and/or gender identity
  • One in four black, Asian and minority ethnic LGBT people (24 per cent) accessing social services in the last year have been discriminated against because of their sexual orientation and/or gender identity
  • Almost three in 10 LGBT people (28 per cent) who visited a faith service or place of worship in the past 12 months experienced discrimination
  • One in ten LGBT people (10 per cent) who attended a live sporting event in the last year experienced discrimination because of their sexual orientation and/or gender identity
