Project 1’s Targets:
“1. I hope to achieve at least some Knowledge of Composition by the End of the year and Compose at least one song on Piano
2. Within the Next 6 months, i’d like to learn how to Mix and Master a lot Better than i already do
3. I would like to Expand my Knowledge of Music Production even Further within the next 2 Years
4. In turn with Production, I need to learn more about Recording, and that means, Recording my projects, Music Videos, Vocals, Samples etc.”
In response to these targets, I met 3 out of 4 of these targets, I met 2 and 3 a lot quicker than I had thought, my mixing and mastering had become so much better in less thana couple months, my musical knowledge had gotten a lot better in the last few months since the last project, I now know how to use granular synths and effects, I know how to create a number of different types of synths using a single synthesiser plugin, I’ve also learned how to use automation a lot better than before and in terms of target 4, I have made good use of Video Editing Software and Photoshop to create a number of Visualisers for my Music.
Research:
I believe i made just enough research to make a pass, the research i made was relevant to the tracks inspiration and samples, another thing i could have researched is how to properly mix reverb and delay for drums.
Practical skills:
I think i have this grade because of my skills in production and how i have presented and explained it in detail, the mixing and mastering has something to do with it too as it shows how much I’ve learned and progressed since last year, i also have an experienced understanding of FL Studio in just under 3 years.
If I were to take up composing or song writing as a career, I’d have to learn a lot more about both and learn how to play an Instrument properly.
If there were anything else i could have done, it would have been artwork more than anything, im not too bothered about promotion or distribution.
A composition i enjoyed the most was definitely “Controlling my Urges” as it was something im more familiar with in terms of emotion and its something to relate to in my own way.
This project as a whole was really enjoyable and i would happily do it again if i could, i love making music and i would do it everyday if i could. for my final project, i will definitely take what ive learnt here and use it there as i will be producing a multitude of songs for my final project.
