Dreams

project Dreams

proposal-

For my theme “Dreams” I have chosen to do beach houses as my theme, as it is like an imaginative place you could fantasize. Emotionally you could feel happy, sad, calm or relaxed but most of all for me is peaceful. To me this how I would feel and would want to stay in that dream, its like letting your mind run wild. Beach houses are getaways where can have breather or feel the breeze in the wind, a solution to a problem whether life or general or a desire to have by taking a break from busy life. By enjoying the calming atmosphere even if it’s for a day or longer for all it takes upon. Going to beaches for a day or long can be therapeutic, clearing the mind, help focus if you feel stressed. It also improves your self-esteem and promoting relaxation as I have already stated. You could also Live there if you wanted to have connection to the nature or the overall feel to it. Speaking of the nature there is not many plants but could imagine the nature there, like an open plan living with natural materials, textures.

I will have done my own mind map of dream in general and one of beach houses with a mood board.  Try to research on artists that relate to my theme or work of the final, outcome as I can. Do practical or tutorial work, trying to experiment different media like watercolours, printmaking, glazing adobe etc. for the final, outcome or just in general to see if I like the technique, and carry on experimenting and use for my final piece. For my final piece I would want to blotted line drawing and draw the house on in pen and using adobe photoshop as I have used before and enjoyed it as well to edit like the curves or gradient map or try a different tool on the final piece. I will be taking advice and asking help from tutors if needed. In conclusion I would want me to be at a merit or at least a pass.

GROUP MINDMAP

as we broke up for the holiday we given a summer brief to which was about past present and future which I’ve uploaded. You could chose between personal or course achievements I did both. i used cereal box, cartridge, watercolors, sharpie to do this, first I cut out measurements as required and cut the cereal and cartridge paper. I outlined the flowers and painted in watercolors, using a sharpie I went around the flower to make it look bolder.

starts from top to bottom – past, present and future.

MOOD BOARD

RESEARCH

i did but like transcription but my own version.

PRACTICAL WORKSHOP

1-PRINTING

Subtration monoprinting

addition monoprinting

Block printing

SURFACE PRINTING

I collaged different pictures to create this, then rolled it paint and placed and traced it for this outcome. However, the word came backwards other than that’s it id good.

BlLOTTED LINE DRAWING

So got tracing and drew a sea with a house, using a wire I got ink and placed on the opposite of the tracing paper and placed over paper and just pressed on. so it transfers on the paper.

COLLAGE with J.O.T

We had a former student of Bradford college who is an artists that creates his work from recycling and taught us how to do it. too be honest i didn’t enjoy it as much mono printing for me.

FINAL PIECE

i decided to do blotted line drawing, i did one in paint brush and other one tissue paper. first one i did was paint brush by overlapping colours on top of each other mixing colours to see the outcome of it and creating different techniques, same with the second one but used tissue paper which i then used to edit it on photoshop which came out better than before.

on photoshop i used a lot of tools for this like curves, levels, vibrance, exposure, shadow and highlight etc to create this

i decided to try printing with lino by cutting the rest of the lino shaping it to a house, using black in to print with as you can see. note- was experiment.

OFICIAL FINAL PIECE

As the outcome of the lino print on this wasn’t successful so i decided to uses polygon lasso tool on adobe photoshop to do this, by firstly creating a part of the house and fill it in black colour with a bucket tool til i created a black silhoutte house on a beach.

EVALUATION-

Overall this project turned out to be successful, i did quite a lot of printing for this project which is good. in the end of this project i created another digital piece like the other projects so i would say that is my speacialism, i am quite contented with the outcome of the final piece. throughout this project i have shown what my theme was and meant and linked in my research, the idea of beach was that i used to go a lot when i was younger but as time went by i stopped going, you find pace at the beach no matter the weather. I used mix media through this project like digital, printing, use of different materials e.g tissue paper and collage. As a result of this project came out good, however there are some things i would need improve on like my timing on this project so i leave enough space to experiment and explore on what works best, surfacing printing came out ok but i need to improve on that as well as collage. In conclusion the thing i need to do better is to correct my timings on things to be done like proposal and experimenting although I did come through some problems at the start of this project. I would say this project wasn’t as confusing as the last project given because it was harder to choose the theme but this was successful.
