This video above demonstrates how to create the basic anatomy of a pony which is sketched out before added the fine line. Once this is created colour is then added to create the finished character.
Blits Azalis Dash is an inspiration for my style as I like her style and the way she creates the art from scratch. I like the way she uses colours to represent each characters personality or backstory.
Blits uses the Paint Tool SAI software to do her art. I use ProCreate but a lot of the techniques can be used on both.
She has a large following of fans on Youtube with over 200k subs and I like the way she shares her passion for art with the community.
Another source for figure drawing generally that I have looked at is by Michael Hampton (2010). The book is a step by step guide with pictures that explains how to draw figures (mostly human) but these can also be used to draw a pony.
