Here’s our first attempt at playing a jazz song , as a band with only about a half hours practice, it sounded quite good , it needs to be a little tighter and a little bit laid back while playing but overall it was good for the time. With my part in particular, it’s a very repetitive rhythm, so thats where a bit of improvisation might come in handy, with this to improve, learning how to improvise within a song will be very useful in the future.
Heres us as a group attempting different jazz parts to the song all blues, we each attempted to improvise and tried different parts of the song , it gave a good insight on how to improvise with the biggest peace of advice to not over do it, sometimes keeping it simple is the best thing to do.
for a full run through of the songs, is went very well overall , it all came together nice and the blending of the song gives it a very relaxed flow. For me in particular, my parts were played quite well, and I’m able to keep the beat throughout 10 minuits worth of plying, as my wrist aches after some time. The few problems are remembering how songs finish, as I just stop on some because I’ve simple forgot where or how it ends. As well I need to remember that white christmas is in 3/4 not 4/4 ,because that could throw everybody off, not just me.
