So, within my proposal I spoke about how I really wanted to portray music in different Cultures. My ideas were to portray Instruments used in music and different cultures. How they are used and to explain how an individual would play this instrument to convey their culture.
I think in terms of responding to the proposal it went well! But when I stated instruments, I only went with one and stuck with it. So, I did not use a variety of instruments which is disappointing. I look back to this and think I could have done more with planning with different instruments to really get a feel with the concept of instruments. On the other hand, sticking with only one instrument was beneficial in my case because it has allowed me to explore more ways to portray the instrument and get inspired to do other workshops which I would not necessarily do!
In terms of my ideas stated within the proposal, I wanted to use abstract colours for future work to make my artwork look more interesting! This is why I had previously picked Andy Warhol as one of my artist research projects to take a dive more into his artwork. Unfortunately, I did not do much abstract work using Warhol’s techniques so instead I am going to take this into account and say that next time I will take more time to explore how artists use their specialisms and use them to my advantage to create interesting outcomes that will inspire me to do other workshops I have not already used or done.
I think my own specialist practice hugely defines success within my project because it has made me experiment more with photography. Taking photos at different angles to get interesting outcomes has made me realise how much photography is essential to me in terms of getting the best outcome I possibly can! However, printmaking on the other hand I would say is a failure within the project mainly because it did not go to plan. The outcome came out worse than I expected, and I did not do enough of it. I think in the future, I will dedicate myself to get better at this workshop and produce way more experimentation using this technique.
What has worked within the project is definitely the digital art I have produced. I am more than happy with how my experimentation has turned out! And why this is, because not only does it look interesting and visually pleasing! But you get a sense of uniqueness to it! There is no limit to digital art and that is why I love it!
I can say I was more focused within this project than the last project! Which as a result it has made me more aware about being on track and being more precise to get work done on time!
In terms of development, I want to proceed on with doing printmaking. To achieve and get better and get the best possible results I can for final major project! Evidently, what has typically made me fond of doing printmaking is the artist, Andrea Lauren. Laurens work looks very professional and as a result this has inspired me to try out new techniques I have not already done!
