R&B music

R&B music has always been a genre which I synonymies with 90s R&B which typically had an African-American male and female singer with a hip-hop beat or instrumental but the lyrics are sung and creates a perfect harmony.

One song I always go back to is “Return of the Mack” this song pictures 90s R&B to me perfectly with how the instrumental starts and you can her what almost sounds like a party in the background then the harmony hits and you feel like you need to be involved and it pulls you in.

A lot of the time the R&B sing charts was a primarily dubbed ‘hot black singles’ showing that it was primarily African-American musicians where as now there has been a big change in how we see things.

90s R&B was primarily influenced by sub-genre of new jack swing an amalgamation of 80s R&B and hip-hop production techniques
