Campfire music

The term campfire music to me means a song that is easy to play and when listened you think of playing it around a campfire with good company and can sing along to, I think a good example of campfire music would be Wonderwall by oasis or American pie by Don McLean and many more from various genres and how many times their songs get heard over radio or trips out to places I think my song is a tie in between a romantic campfire song the replay value of there songs goes a long way as well so there song are always recognised as classics and easy song to play and still get a reaction.

A nice melody with easy lyrics on top seems to me like the recipe for writing a good campfire song. The nice and relaxing melody with good lyrics is a good place to start but thinking of a campfire you wouldn’t have an electric guitar or a drum kit around so it mainly consists of acoustic instruments vocals and shakers or a tambourine the best things about this was making a song out of little instruments.

When I was writing the song I did think about using live instruments like an electric guitar or an acoustic drum kit to bring everything together but I felt like the idea of the campfire is the centrepiece of the whole thing so going in with the idea of a campfire song seems appropriate to follow those rules stomps and claps can be used as more of a percussion then a drum kit and an acoustic guitar can be fine to use instead of an electric.
