Planning my final project

Week 1

I will finish my proposal as quickly as I can as to not waste any time and get on with the project.

I would need to find some more research to apply for both songwriting and lyric writing. As well as, getting somewhere with my production.

Week 2

I will use half of this week to finish a satisfactory research page and when I found the song I want to use, try and apply the research I found on producing the track and make sure they reach the bridge.

Once my research page is at a satisfactory level and I have reached the bridge I will now be building up my evaluation pages and adding some context to why I chose this project? some of my influences and one person that Influences me and a page about them.

Week 3

After reaching the bridge on both songs I will now copy the verses over the chorus and I will also be attempting to structure the songs to fit the correct genre.

Once that is finished, I will continue looking at my research and getting in contact with singers in my class to find out if they can appear in my track. I should have asked them at the start but I wanted to get most of my written work out of the way and I would think that depending on their work ethic they could be at a good point to afford some time off their tracks. So asking them to appear later in the future once my song’s instrumental is finished I will ask them for their help them after their notice.

Week 4

By the end of the week, I should have finished a draft of my first song and gone back to structure my second song ready to call it a finished draft I would have added further texture to my track to make it sound more full.

Now I have some room to move around with my songs in a good position this early into the project I would focus on artwork with Paul so I would have to scramble for it at the end it would be one loose end I can tie up easily and quickly.

I would also use some of this time to better my digital space work by beefing up my context pages and adding more of a stable research page as well as the start of my problem-solving pages.

Week 5

Now in week 5, I need to think about working with the singer and writing lyrics I would have some research pages to look through and try to bounce ideas off each other and once we have a good draft of lyrics I would leave it for a week and build upon looking through my research ready to record vocals and things I need to look out for whether I need to avoid some rules or put more work into and as well as this what microphone to use, does the room matter, how to get rid of static etc.

As well as my research page I would also need to add more to my other pages as well as to not have to worry about them in the closing stages of the project.

Week 6 and 7 (Easter holiday)

At this point, my music should have come a long way my two songs have reached their final draft, and I would have gotten in contact with a singer and started working on lyrics. Not to mention my digital space work should be caught up and descriptive with no work below average.

I would spend some time refining and look at the lyrics me and the vocalist made and see what I can shave off or add now that I haven’t looked at it in a week I would have some fresh ideas.

Week 8

Back in college and I will have asked one of my tutors for feedback on my digital space work as well as my production work on my tracks I would then request to book out the studio for vocal recordings.

Once we get into the studio I will show the singer what lyrics I scraped together over Easter and record plenty of vocals just to be safe and spend a day going through them to find which ones sound good for the tracks.

Week 9

After narrowing down the vocals for both tracks, I begin to bounce down the tracks ready to be mixed in which I will use the many sources I have required along the way. I would work from Monday to Thursday morning mixing and in the afternoon I would work with Pual to do some fixes or improvements.

I will also work on feedback if I was given it from last week in my spare time as the project is nearly coming to a close.

Week 10

After finishing the mixing process I will request help with the mastering just because I have little experience and I don’t wasn’t to mess up things and blame them on a bad youtube or essay tutorial. Once finished I will give the music to Paul to put the song I plan to show at the showcase as I only want only show one song the other now will just have some still artwork and focus on the audio.

Week 11

This is the week of the showcase and I will have shown my song to the number of spectators who came and saw us.

Week 12

In the final week, I will begin my final evaluation and look through my work to see if I missed anything and improve on some mistakes I may have rushed over.
