Khalid was one of my main influences when I decided to make an R&B he was one of the newest rising stars in 2017 and still releases hits today with people like Ed Sheeran, Marshmallow and Billie Eilish.
He didn’t become a rising star until he dropped his first single Locations on May 2016 which helped spread hype for his debut album American Teen (2017). The single managed to net Khalid a Grammy nomination for Best R&B Song in the 60th annual grammy awards.
The song that offered me this is the song that inspired me the most from the easy feel and calming lyrics to the bouncing instrumental. His vocals are distinctive and the way he writes is something that caught my eye and made me a fan.
One thing that I also admire about him is his past he didn’t come from a lot he moved around a lot being from a military family and now he has a massive fan base and multiple platinum rated songs
I have tried replicating his work but the hardest point is making a meaningful lyrics I couldn’t even write good ones but having such a high expectation gives me a goal to shoot for and something I will continue to do
