At the start of the project, I wasn’t sure what I would do about graphics in my song because I needed something that would fit the song’s sound, but I started thinking of a still image with some artwork I like that works with the song.
So I looked at some art that I thought was really good and powerful like the artwork for redbone by childish Gambino but I didn’t know or have any ideas.
But when I found a photo of a skateboarder landing a trick down on a decline with the red dusk sky above incited me.
This was the image that pushed me to follow. The art style, image and vibe were what drew me in to follow Paul knew exactly what I wanted and was looking for and hoping to make, and the final product is better than I imagined.
After looking through my research and my new ideas I knew I wanted a red sky before night and that it was going to be like the photo that drew me in the most.
after me and Paul finished the photoshop image we headed over to after effects which is like a recording software that allowed us to make the trees move past, car to jump up and down, hand to move and have a realistic rearview mirror that when we did correctly had to be celebrated.
Overall, I think this part of the project wasn’t going to be where it is now. I had no hope for it to be where we took it which I am impressed with there could be more done looking back but then again I think for college level I think I did above and beyond at this stage with the time I had left it was looking impossible but Paul had hope which couldn’t be shaken which also persuaded me.
