sound Evaluation

This is the final product of what I created using my sounds which I found to create the sounds clips for Wall E and his actions. I did this by using a recorder ( the zoom h5) to record my sound clips. I recorded the sounds by going through my college with my classmates to find sounds that would suit this audio clip the best, however, some of the sounds that I recorded did not fit in with the clip which I had to remove and some of my classmates did not work hard to find sounds which I had to find lot more sounds. Furthermore, some of the sounds did not sound right and some of them were very good and sounded clear which then I had to remove the majority of the sounds that I had recorded. This meant had I some limitations which I had to find other ways which I did by changing the audio and adding FX.

After I compiled the audio clips and put them in garage band which is the application that I used to create the finished Wall E clip. I then separated each clip and named them for what the sound clip sounds like. I did this to make it easier for myself when synchronising the clips which are very useful and efficient as I know what the sounds sound like which I then know which sound suits which action the best. Next, I rearranged the clips and tried to sync the audio clip with the action of the Wall E video clip. I did this by zooming in so I can see each frame which I tried to sync the audio clip to the correct frame accurately so it fits exactly to the action.

Also, I had to edit some of the sound clips to make them fit with the clip. I did this by changing the pitch of the audio clip to make it loud or soft to match with the corresponding scene. Also, I added distortion and cut some of the audio clips to make the clip sound different so it sounds and fits better than the original. This made the Wall e clip sound more natural as the audio clips fit well with the scene. Also, this allowed me to have different options as some of my sounds did not work and fit with the clip which distortion and volume helped me change that allows me to have more options.

Overall I think the finished clip went well and I’m happy with the final result as some my sounds fit well with the clip. On the other hand, there were some limitations as I was not familiar with the software to create the Wall E clip and I couldn’t find a sound that fits with the vacuum which I put no sound for the vacuum. Also, some of the audio clips that I recorded had some background noise which I had to remove so I couldn’t use some of the clips but the metal sound I created was my favourite as it fits very well. In addition, I did not watch the videos enough times to get an idea of what sounds I need and what will work and what will not which this would make it easier for and I could’ve got better sounds. However, with what I had, it turned out as how I imagined it. If I had to do this again I would change many things I did, for example, I would watch the video multiple times so I am aware of what sounds I need for which actions which allows me to get better sounds. Also, I am able to get a sound for the vacuum as I did not have it before. I would also make sure that there was no background noise so I don’t have to get rid of my sounds which benefits me as I will have more and a wide range of sounds than before.
