Getting the event
The first problem we encountered was sorting out which venue we would use. The two main options that we had were Nightrain and The Underground. The first problem occurred with Nightrain, as we had to pay to use their venue. This meant that we had to charge for the tickets and we didn’t want to do that because it would mean we would have to charge money for the tickets, which would lead to having less family and friends attending the final performance.
The problem with The Underground was that the person responsible for answering e-mails wasn’t responding to us, so we had to go in person and speak with one of the workers and they managed to book the venue for us on the 13th of May completely free.
moving equipment
The next problem arose as we needed to book the estates who were responsible for delivering music equipment to the venue before the final performance. The problem with the estates was that GCSE’s were happening at the same time so their availability was limited.
They managed to deliver music equipment but when they were going to return them they had to wait an extra day. We got lucky because The Underground didn’t have anything going on the next day.
No dress rehearsal in Lister
This was a minor problem as we normally performed the dress rehearsal in the Lister building in B25 The reason was because the performing art student were using that room at the time. so
we had to perform in one of the rehearsal rooms instead which had limited space and no other audience.
Video making
We scheduled to use the recording studio with green screen the week before the gig. Me and Aimee asked some of the students to participate in the making of the video but when it came to filming non of them showed up so we had to quickly gather some other students to participate on the same day. We managed to get Jaheim and some of his friends to be in the video. At the them we managed to film and edit the video on the same day and have it play around college to promote the gig.
photoshoot
The first photoshoot went smoothly with Anna the photographer as all the other bands got their photos but my band didn’t get the chance as the whole band wasn’t pressent, so what we did was ask one of the photography students to take photos of our band but she never got back to us and we used another photo to use for promotion.
Students being loud
As it was getting to the end of the gig some of the students that attended the gig went outside to the smoking area and started making noise for no reason so Gale the owner of The Underground had to come out and tell them all to get inside.
