The SM-57 is the most versatile microphone used for recording guitars and vocals.
They are used to record guitars because it doesn’t distort the sound at high volumes.
These microphones have by nature a cardioid polar patters. That means that the microphone will only capture sounds from the front and sides and never from behind the microphone which is great because it doesn’t give any spill from other band members when recording together.

AKG C414 Condenser mic. This microphone has every polar pattern you can think of. Like the SM 57 it has a cardioid polar patters so only the front and sides will pick up sound. It has a omni-directional patters which can pick up 360 directional sound so that is front side and back which used mainly for capturing sound of an audience or environmental sounds. Another polar pattern this microphone has is hyper cardioid which is basically the same as a cardioid but it also captures a little sound from behind.
This microphone features a bi-directional feature that captures sound from the front and back. This feature is mainly used for podcasts if 2 people are facing each other.

These pencil microphones are used for overhead drums to capture the whole drum kit and to record a full piano. They work best in pairs depending on how you position them you can get a lot of different sounds from them.
You can put them in pairs separate from each other or have them in a XY positioning so that they are pointing each other or have them in a near coincidental position so that they are both apart from each other and pointed opposite each other.

The Titan SE microphone is a multi-pattern condenser microphone which includes a cardioid, bidirectional and a omnidirectional setting.
This microphone requires 48v of phantom power.
Because this microphone picks up more ambience in its cardioid mode, more care needs to be taken in acoustic room. That means that there needs to be more sound proofing.
