Today I experimented with mixing a metal song which was so much fun because metal is one of my favourite genres.
What I have done here is turned all the drums into one single channel so that I can control the volume and also I have added a noise gate to the kick and snare so that they are both clearly heard. What I also did was pan the overheads to each ear and I also panned the guitar and bass to each ear as well.
Next what I did was add an EQ to each audio
