Jazz Rehearsals

In this session, we learned a Jazz version of Last Christmas by Wham!
this song wasn’t that tricky to learn as I already know how to play the original version on bass, I just had to learn the song in a different way which again wasn’t that hard for me.
At home, I tried to come up with a bass solo but couldn’t figure it out as I didn’t know how to play scales on bass, which are different from guitar scales. So I need to learn how to play scales on bass.
Later in my instrumental bass lessons with Joe, I asked him if he could teach me some bass solos. He showed me some bass shapes I could use during my bass solo as I didn’t want to ruin the song with some made-up solo on the spot.

This was our first time playing a more jazz version of Little Wing by Jimi Hendrix. I listened to different versions of this song, for example, I listened to Stings version of this song and tried to implement some of the bass into this version but I couldn’t find any tabs for this song so I just played the regular version of it. I listened to other versions of it but they were too hard for me to play as most of them had slap bass and other techniques I have never heard of.
