California Dreamin’
I had a pretty hard time learning the structure because it changes after the intro, so instead of changing to the chorus after the verse I had to stay on the verse for one more time and then go into the chorus.
As a band, I feel like we did a great job at playing it even though we didn’t get as much time to learn it
The Chicken
This is my favourite song to play from all of the songs because of how technical it is and it was my first time playing a jazz song.
I feel like I could have played this song a bit better as I did drop out mid-way through the song as I forgot what part I was on and I had to rely on what Lukass was playing and from that I knew what part we were on.
As a band again we did a great job playing this song and the added trumpet from John added another layer to the song as no one else played the melody.
Little Wing
Again just like California Dreamin’, this was an ok song to play but I feel like if I learned something from the other versions and implemented that into this song then it would have sounded much better and not like the original from Jimi Hendrix. I didn’t play a bass solo on this song as I felt like it didn’t need one as it would ruin it from me just playing something random from the bass shapes I learned.
Last Christmas
Another Favourite of mine to play because of the solo that Joe taught me that I didn’t get a chance to play during the performance because the song stopped just before I started to play the bass solo. Anyway, the song sounded great, I added some slides into the song to add some elements to the song, Again as a band we did a great job at playing this song and there is nothing that I would change about this song.
