My FMP was to promote the whole event. I started by coming up with ideas for poster designs and names to call the event. At first, I used AI to help us with the names, but they were too cheesy and didn’t match the theme we were going with. We later decided to use a name I came up with during Project One when I was in charge of promoting the event.
We used ALT+F4 because it fit in with the theme and because of most of the song choices from the student performing.
Making the posters was easy because I am used to using programs like Photoshop and Adobe Express, The only problem I faced was when making the posters was getting the definitive date of the event as this was the main information to put on the poster and without it I couldn’t post/put around college so I had to wait until I got the date of the event.
Another piece of promotion was making a promo video in the style of old iPod adverts with the coloured backgrounds and silhouette people dancing to music holding an iPod. This was trickey to make because we told the media student to help us with making the video and that we were going to use one of the recording studios with a green screen. Jump to the day of filming and the media student forgot we were making a video so we had to do it all by ourselves with Lewis setting up the cameras and teaching us how to record. We got some of the students to do some dancing as we didn’t have a lot of time for them to mimic using instruments.
When I got the videos I instantly started making the promo video and looked through many tutorials but they were all confusing until I found one on “How to recreate a Kendrick Lamar video” which helped me a lot in making of the video.
The problem that I faced when making the video was when I had to make the green screen brighter because it wasn’t lit up as it should of been, so for next time when using a green screen I would need a lot of light to make the green screen pop and have zero areas where you can see creases and shadows.
In regards to my Band (Santhe) we went through band members changing, We first had Reece to play bass for, but we had to replace him due to time management and his working hours, We replaced him with Faye as a temporary member for Liam from level 2 to be our bass player. Faye was changed to acoustic guitar and we got Oliver from level 3 to be second guitar player.
Over all my FMP was a success because I wanted to promote this event to as many people as possible and have them attend the venue. I asked BradfordMusicScene to promote our event on their Instagram, which helped us sell more tickets, and from the promo video, as I got a lot of good feedback from other students.
