I got this idea to promote the gig further and come up with something creative instead of just constantly posting the same poster every time.
So I made a promo video in the style of 2000s iPod adverts.
At first, we wanted to have students playing instruments such as guitars, bass and drums, but we couldn’t do that due to not having enough time and some of the students didn’t want to be in the video.
In the end, we got Jaheim and Sukhbir along with some of their friends to be in the video.
While filming the video, we scrapped the idea of playing instruments and told them to dance. Aimee chose the song Vampire Weekend by A-Punk, and we had that play on loop to dance to.
This is the finished product
Here is some behind-the-scenes footage.

This is the tutorial video I watched to learn how to make the effect

Here is the process of making the promo video. I used Adobe Premiere Pro 2021 to make this video.
In the program, I added every shot we got from the day and looked through each one to pick out which shot I wanted to use in the video.
I then used chroma-key, which is a tool used to remove the green screen, then I used a tool called tint, which is the tool used to black out people and turn them into silhouettes. I did this with each shot. I then later added the green colour like in the ipod adverts. The colour I used is the same one used in the Charlie XCX album brat. The colour code is #8ACE00
I then uploaded this video to the ALT+F4 Instagram page and story.
I then messaged Bradford Music Scene to upload it to their story.

If I were to make this video again, the first thing I would improve on is the lighting. There are still visible lines from the green screen curtain. I tried fixing it in the chroma key setting to remove all the shadows and increase the contrast so that the green could pop out. Another point I would like to improve on is having something more related to the gig and the music course. I wish we could of stuck to the initial idea of student from the music course playing instruments.
