YA RAB – Ismail Hussain | Official Video (youtube.com)

MEHMAAN | Ahmad Rubani | Official Video 4k (youtube.com)

Awais Iqbal – Ya Nabi Salam Alayka | Official Nasheed Video (youtube.com)

I would like my nasheed video to look like these examples. As you see in the examples shown above the video is very high quality and that person has used different shots , including the drone.

These examples show how the director and producer have used various shots with the gimble to create the effect where the audience that are watching the video are moving with the camera.and where ever the person is moving the camera is moving with it.In these examples you also see some wide shots , pov shots and slow motion shots.these are the kind of shots I will be looking forward to seeing when my actual music video is completed.

Producing a music video encompasses employing various camera shots to generate visual appeal, express emotions, and enrich the overall storytelling. The selection of specific shots depends on the musical style, desired mood, and the narrative conveyed by the song. Below are some typical shot categories frequently utilized in music videos:

  1. Wide Shots (Establishing Shots): These shots establish the setting, displaying the location or environment. They effectively introduce the viewer to the overall scene.
  2. Close-ups: These shots capture the performers’ emotions and expressions. Focusing on instruments or specific body parts (e.g., hands playing guitar, lips singing) can enhance the sense of intimacy.
  3. Performance Shots: These shots spotlight the artists as they perform the song. This may involve showcasing the entire band or concentrating on individual performers.
  4. Cutaways/B-Roll: These shots offer supplementary context or details relevant to the song’s theme. They may include scenes that complement the lyrics or evoke a specific mood.
  5. Narrative/Storytelling Shots: For music videos with a storyline, incorporate shots that progress the narrative. This could involve actors, props, and specific locations.
  6. Dance Shots: When the music involves dance, capture the choreography with dynamic shots. Experimenting with various angles and movements adds visual engagement to the dance.
  7. Special Visual Effects Shots: Depending on the music style, consider integrating visual effects to enhance the video. This might involve elements like slow-motion, fast-motion, color grading, or other creative effects.
  8. Over-the-Shoulder Shots: These shots film from behind a person’s shoulder, showcasing what they are seeing or interacting with. It effectively immerses the viewer in the scene.
  9. POV Shots (Point of View): Offer the audience the perspective of one of the characters, creating a more immersive experience.
  10. Drone Shots: Where applicable and legal, drone shots can provide breathtaking aerial views, elevating the production value of the video.

What is a nasheed?

•The Nasheed (plural, a {nasheed) is a song without musical instruments with lyrics that resemble hymns that praise God (Allah). The person who sings a Nasheed is called a munshid.

•Nasheeds are popular throughout the Islamic world. The material and lyrics of a nasheed usually refer to Islamic beliefs, history, and religion, as well as current events.

Nasheed, at its fundamental essence, refers to a song. Yet, within the Islamic context, Nasheed embodies a musical composition that conveys Islamic beliefs, practices, etiquettes, or lessons. Its manifestations are diverse, ranging from straightforward praises of Allah (swt) to intricately crafted compositions elucidating Quranic passages or presenting life lessons through an Islamic lens.

A Nasheed constitutes a sacred song, performed either individually or collectively. Traditionally, it is accompanied by percussion instruments such as drums (or daf), which held prominence during the era of Muhammad ‎ﷺ. Nonetheless, contemporary Nasheed artists employ an extensive range of musical instruments in their compositions, including string instruments, wind and brass instruments, and lamellaphones.

While some Muslims believe that playing any other instrument other than daf is haram in Islam, others say that any instrument is lawful, as long as it is used for a permissible kind of music. Those who do not allow music believe that Muhammad ‎ﷺ censured the use of musical instruments when he said: “There will be among my Ummah people who will regard as permissible adultery, silk, alcohol, and musical instruments“. Those who argue that music is halal (permitted), point out that in the Quran, it is stated that Prophet Dawud was given the Psalms (an-Nisa, 4/163; al-Isra, 17/55), and the Psalms given to Prophet Dawud were sent down in the month of Ramadan, that it contained sermons and words of wisdom and that Prophet Dawud usually recited it accompanied by a melody and a musical instrument, therefore music is permitted. Supporters of this view also point out that in classical Islamic jurisprudence and Sharia, the Quran is the higher authority on correct Islamic practice. The hadith (sayings of Prophet Muhammad ‎ﷺ), while important, are secondary to the Quran.

A nasheed (plural of Nasheed) is popular throughout the Islamic world and is sung in praise of Allah and Muhammad ‎ﷺ, in various languages like Urdu, Punjabi, Arabic, Farsi, English, etc. The lyrics of A Nasheed usually refer to Islamic beliefs, history, and religion, as well as current events. In today’s era, when the young generation has little time to study the teachings and history of Islam, a nasheed plays a vital role in the upliftment of their iman. The basic purpose of a nasheed is to spread the message of Islam, and what else can be a better way than the music itself, which has the power to conquer minds and souls? In different countries, with different languages, among different races, and people of different beliefs, the soulful music of nasheed has not only attracted people but has helped spread the teachings of Islam throughout the globe.

The most popular and widely sung nasheed are the ones that are sung in praise of Prophet Muhammad ‎ﷺ. They are important for today’s generation from the viewpoint that they teach the Prophetic characteristics so that one can try to implement them in his daily life. Around the world, a nasheed is sung in his honor, consisting study of his noble characteristics, teaching how he interacted with family, friends, and foes. Many a nasheed have also been written to raise the voice against injustice and oppression, which is one of the most important principles and teachings of Islam, which says, “O who you believe, stand firm for justice even against your selves” [Surah Al-Nisa].
