Review Recordings

On the 12th of May I recorded my two songs for the showcase in the live practice room. I did my two songs Arcade by Duncan Laurence and Slower by Tate McRae. The singing was accompanied by Nic on the acoustic guitar. We took several takes in the afternoon, and each song was finished fairly quickly, there was notes about the pitch of my voice but apart from that I think I did really well. Lewis was helping by getting the recordings and fixing the audio, and We only had taken a few recordings, because it was the end of the day. The few takes we did take I think sounded really good. It had been hard to learn the timing so during the recordings we would use signals in order to indirectly communicate with each other so we would not mess up the timing. The session was performed fairly quickly because it was the near of the day, and we recorded with a microphone set up and a head piece in which we could hear Lewis talk through, it was easy to communicate with one and other. Lewis added soft material around the earphones in order to stop sound from escaping and allow the sound to be more controlled and picked up by the microphone. Every song was done fairly swiftly with about 3 or 4 tries for each songs, and I did mess up on one of the takes, but overall despite my nerves I think I did fairly well. I haven’t had the opportunity to look back the recordings as of yet, But from my experience I think it sounded pretty good. And I can’t wait to hear the final product at the Showcase.
