(P5) Week 9 Progress

Okay, the last week, I focused my attention on getting the project finished, I was writing up all of my extra written work, and I was settling until I had an Epiphany and I re-created all of my videos, with full editing, a big contrast from my previous videos, And get this, I actually performed in front of a camera and it was very challenging to do, I normally wouldn’t even dream of doing this, and I tend to shy away from cameras. I did this set up in my bedroom, and propped my phone to record from the windowsill. I also grabbed my laptop, and played the videos I had already pre-recorded throughout project 5. The set up was fairly easy to do, And I was going to be miming the performance so it would create the illusion that I was recording it in real time. I wanted to focus on the uploads with longer content, because I feel like people would want more content instead of one minute short clips. I managed to recreate My Bellyache Cover, My Use Somebody Cover, and And my Arcade Cover. I think out of all my videos, I like my bellyache cover the best, when it come to how I recorded it, because it looks very well edited, and I love how I set up the camera.

I have been doing most of my written work, I was behind on my documentation for my weeks, and I managed to catch up to my week 9, so I’m now on track for all my weeks. I will be working on talking about my new videos, and doing some last minute research on the two artists I will be doing for the showcase, but I will keep in mind that we do have to do our evaluations very soon, and I am planning to work very hard to get everything completed this week. I have a lot of work that I have made for myself, but I am planning to get all of it done. This week, I on’t think I’m going to get much sleep, now to show you what I’ve managed to do in terms of progress for this week:

My introduction video

This was my official introduction video, and it’s mainly for promotion purposes, so people have something to identify me with, I edited this video in Kinemaster Diamond and it took me about 30-40 minutes. I really like it, I think it’s very simplistic but still compliments the natural nature vibe I want to go with for my work, and this is reflected on my Instagram. I picked a Melanie Martinez song for the background, because I really liked the song, and I think it matched well with the video. Overall I really like this promotion video and it’s something I can feature in my videos!

My Bellyache Cover

This was the first video I happened to record, and I really like it, I think I was very good at acting in front of the camera, I really like how I was able to act natural in front of the camera even though I was very nervous. I edited the video in Kinemaster, and added some personal touches to make the video look more professional, and I added filters and effects to better compliment the videos aesthetic. I had taken recordings that I had recorded beforehand, and I used them as the base for my covers, and it worked really well. I recorded all of these songs in a singular day, and I am proud of how I was able to produce them, each video individually took about 1 hour to create. Getting them to sync up and get the timing right was a real pain in the back though, because I didn’t have much knowledge about how to create something like this.

Here are my other two songs:

Both of these covers are similar to the first, because I wanted to have an ongoing theme throughout my videos. I think the other two are really good, but I wish when I had recorded my face, the camera could’ve been a bit closer. but it’s still a very good video. I feel like it breaks the monotony of having every video exactly the same. I will leave my art that I have created for the thumbnails here:

I think I’ve overall done very well this week, and I think I’ve really pulled through for the last week.I’m very proud of my progress.
