Week 8 was spent focusing on recording our videos for our music showcase, I felt very awkward in front of a camera, it was comforting having Tia Trueman with me, It was very hard to be in front of the camera. I feel like I did okay overall, we were one of the fastest groups to shoot. The setup didn’t actually happen outside, but instead was shot in the Greenhouse. Recording with us was Nic and the cameraman. They shot from several angles, and they would move around us during the performance to get the best shots for the showcase.
From my initial thoughts, this is a lot different from what I initially imagined us doing. Miming our videos was something we did back in project 1, and I pretty much ran away from the camera because I felt really awkward. This time around I found it very awkward but I was able to deal with the camera with a lot more maturity. I am insecure about how I would’ve looked, so I wouldn’t look at the camera and try to focus on other objects around the room. Having the opportunity to listen back on my recording with Nic the two songs sounded really good, and I was pleasantly surprised at what I heard. The audio sounded really nice and professional, and my voice sounded really nice too, Lewis did a great job at putting it all together and recording it. Throughout the performance.
The setup for the recording was fairly simple, we used a comfy sofa to sit and perform on, and the room itself has some very nice Aesthetics. The Cameraman was very helpful and kind, and very open to adaptations which I thought was very cool. We had a lot of freedom to record it how we wanted, which I also liked and found very helpful. Both recordings went very smoothly, Tia had learned both songs, and she was nailing both of them, she was a very reliable partner, and it looked like she was really playing the guitar. She was very confident in front of the camera, compared to me, and she’s really good at getting things done, a very reliable, resourceful partner.
Throughout this week, I wasn’t really present, but during my time at home, I spent most of it updating my digital space and creating promotional Art which I will put here:
I was spending a lot of time singing covers, and recording them as well, and I think they sound really cool:
This week I wish I could’ve done more, but I was on top of all my work and I still made sure I got work done, and I am really starting to come to the end of the Project, and I’ve shown a lot of improvement.
