(P5) Week 3 Progress

Okay for Week 3, I branched out fully for Tiktok, And I uploaded my Cover Heather, and I really enjoyed this cover, and I think it complimented my voice a lot more than my previous cover Dusk till Dawn. I uploaded My Cover onto YouTube, Instagram, And TikTok, And I gained a modest following of 160+ followers. I used one of my two phones, to connect to a stereo and a microphone to enhance the audio for my videos. One of the things I noticed when I first started doing these covers is that when I would perform without a microphone or stereo speaker, The audio wouldn’t sound as polished or the quality of the sound would sound unprofessional and hinder my voice. Since the microphone and stereo speaker, I am using is often in a live performance room with acoustics, It often doesn’t sound as crisp as it would do with a real piano/or guitar.

I used my dad’s photography for the thumbnail of this video, but used a recorded sunset video instead of a single image, in  my opinion, and from my peers perspective it adds more appeal to my videos, and adds a new sort of “life” to them, then what a still image does. Once I’ve done recording my videos, I edit them in an editor called Kinemaster, in which I export the video I want to use into the editing tool, and I can add fonts, Effects, and any sort if effects to my voice or video I’m trying to make. I really like this editor because it’s really easy to use and it doesn’t leave a watermark like most editors tend to do. I also produced my logo and promotion art in that editor, and it has a lot of cool effects, filters, and tools you can use to create art and videos.

In this week I also researched how I could better include audios and I found this:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.starmakerinteractive.starmaker

Here I found some good apps that I could use to help improve the quality of music in videos. I find that this works well because it helps to improve the quality of my voice by cutting out the acoustics that are heard in my videos. However, the down side is, that you have to record the audio in separate parts. Alternatives I found are:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.smule.singandroid

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.famousbluemedia.yokee

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=thevoice.sing.karaoke

My goals for this week are to upload more content for my platforms, and finish documenting my progress, as well as including research to my digital space, and attending more sessions. This will improve not only what I learn, but what I will produce.  This video is quite short, because it was designed for TikTok, I I feel like the audio quality is okay, but I feel like I should’ve uploaded the full cover instead of a shorter version, what I have produced is very good within itself, but it’s not everything I wanted to produce this week. In terms of using Starmaker, it was a plan that didn’t actually happen, it was helpful to know they were apps out there, I just never got the chance or time to figure out how to use it properly. The other alternatives I managed to play around with, but it all seemed overwhelming to learning a such a short amount of time, and I had a strict schedule I had set for myself, in which I was following. I feel like it was good to research what other people use so I am aware of all the other alternatives in which I could develop into my own work, and I really enjoyed getting to try out new software, even if I didn’t stick with it.
