Introduction

While working on my music video project I will be workimg on a secondary Live performance project involving the rest of my classmates. Its a great way for my to showcase all my hardwork and gives me the opportunity to promote myself as an Artist. Being able to perform live in front of an audience is something I would want to do as an achieving solo artist. It’s something I feel like every singer has to practice, not only does it help improve your singing skills, it helps build up your confidence, and helps you build an identity. Being able to have the opportunities to practice performing in front of an audience gives the artist an opportunity to grow and nurture their skills. It also gives me and other artists the ability reflect on previous work and see how we have improve in our performances, and what we could do to improve more in our future performances.

Last year’s final showcase.

Time skip to 55:40 to see my performance.

Reflecting on last year’s final live performance, I noticed actions I could’ve done better to improve my performances. One of the first things I notice is that I’m sat down, with hunched over posture. Although this was still able to work at the time, I would now do most of my live performances standing up, since it’s easier to breathe and allows me more room to perform. It was always said to me to stand up when singing songs, but it took me while to actually understand why. I found it hard to control my breathing whilst I sat down. Since it’s something I spend mostly all my time at home, I grew accustomed it. I still believe that it was a good performance, and I really like my voice in this video but it’s hard to look back at it at times because I grow forward, I begin to dislike old performances where a made mistakes. In this video I’m happy that I was able to relax and not panic in front of a camera.

Being able to create youtube videos online is always a career path I’ve been thinking about taking. I am able to create video independently, so for this project I wanted to do just that. My last year’s final project centered around starting my own platform and posting my own videos, in which I was able to achieve. In this project I wanted to focus on building omn my skill that I have learned in this past year, and showing improvements I have made since my year 1 Final project. The reason why I have chosen to focus on building on my past project is because I want the exam board to have the ability to see and read all of my improvements, and see me build on a past project that was already successful. Being able to take past performances and work you produced and improve them allows me to learn how to be a better singer and artist.

My 1st Year final video. {Arcade}

This was my final video I produced for my 1st year’s final project. I aim to show drastic improvements between then and now, and documenting it all on my digital space. Not only will this allow me to improve, it will also will allow me to continue creating on my established platform and stay consistent to my dream of wanting to be a singer. Creating a youtube channel and posting my own content has allowed me to express my own creativity and try different styles in music and in editing. I am going to create a page called Improvement where I evaluate all my videos and talk about all the things I learned about this year. I hope that I am able to achieve as much as I did last year, and I hope to make myself proud.
