This is my final video I created for my last project, it was video I worked the hardest on, and where I took my skills I had learned throughout the project and applied then to this video. I recorded, mixed, and edited this video all by myself using my phone.
Evaluation:
I really like how my final video turned out despite it not reaching original ideas and expectations. I was still able to create a video with the idea of animation and editing as its focus, and I was able to problem solve and fix issues when they didn’t go to plan. This new video shows that I improved in audio, editing, and recording, and showcases all my progress throughout this project. This projects aim was to show consistent improvement, in all of my skills I had learned while being at Bradford college. I wish I would’ve been able to record a studio version with Nic in the recording studio, to make the audio sound professional. But I want to able to create independently with my own resources and abilities. I wish I would’ve given myself the chance to plan ahead for the videos I actually wanted to create, and given myself more time to create them, that would’ve been able to make my performance more easier and consistent, and it would’ve been less to worry about. I really like how my editing turned out, I think it’s one of the best videos I’ve been able to create thus far and I’m really proud of it. I really loved the idea of using editing for content for my video, because showing my face is something I have always been conscious about. It’s a great way to provide a music video without me feeling uncomfortable or insecure. I only wish I could’ve gathered more clips in time, because I did have to reuse a lot of my editing clips to be able to finish the video. I wish I would’ve looked for more content, but downloading each video individually is hard on my storage. I could’ve looked for a better way to store videos, If I would’ve worked on my Laptop I could’ve found a better way to help save strage but still edit the way I want to. I also sung this song for my final showcase and I honestly wish I could’ve prepared Nic sooner about my set list, But at that point I had trouble deciding and I was focused on getting all my practical work completed. I could’ve recorded in the studio with nic, and made this video sound a lot better. Practicing this song earlier would’ve also prepared me better for the showcase.
Summary:
Overall, I am very proud of this final video, and I was able to get a lot of positive responses from friends and family, and it was even one if the songs that I decided to perform at the showcase. I do wish I had recorded more variations of this cover, because I do believe I could’ve sung it better, but I think I sound okay overall. It’s not something most people notice in this video, and that overall makes me relieved. If I could create this video again, I would’ve spent more time cleaning up the editing, and creating more promotional content for it. And I would’ve told myself to not be so afraid to try something else if something doesn’t go to plan.
