Today I ill be evaluating my final perfomance for the end of year showcase, it’s been an emotional year, but I am really happy to end this chapter with a perfomance I am really proud of, and it will be a great memory to remember.
I am extremely proud of this performance, I’m glad I was able to be a lot more prepared for this showcase. Let’s start with all of the positives. I loved how confident I had gotten with these songs in such a short amount of time, the power in my voice along with the control sounds a lot better than my rehearsals, showing my improvement. I loved how my voice sounded here, it’s been a while since I’ve heard my voice sound this good. I love my tone of voice and how I was able to put my own twist on covers to make them personalised. I was able to address the audience with a lot more confidence then before hand in my final rehearsal and I was even able to relax and laugh a little. Performing in front of such a supportive audience made feel a lot more comfortable. Every song was sung back-to-back with no issues, and everything went smoothly. I really couldn’t think of much things wrong with this perfomance because I’m really proud of it. Nic, Abi, and Harry did a splendid job at playing their instruments and supporting me throughout my performance. Having instruments playing in the background sounds way better than just playing a kareoke, and it adds a lot more energy to the stage and the performance. I really loved have a projector playing a video to go along with the performance in the background, I feel like it was a really creative choice, and it makes my perfomance and the background stand it. It also adds to the aesthetics of the stage, and allows the audience to have imagery to look at. The projector was also used to shoot other people’s videos which I thought was very cool. I wish I could’ve utilised the chance to add some of my own videos I had worked on for others to see, it would’ve helped with promoting my content. In terms of future improvement, Building my confidence and getting more experience is key. I have everything I need to go out and start doing performances that I can arrange myself, and I can post music online to promote myself, along with art and promotional posters. I do need to improve on talking with the audience, because there was times were I messed up my words, But it ultimately gave me the ability to relax because I was able to laugh along with the audience. I think I have improved a lit throughout my entire perfomance and I have been consistent with showing all my improvement throughout this project. I am very proud of how far I have been able to progress and I have loved my 2 years at Bradford college. This final showcase went well for everybody, and everyone sounded amazing, and I’m glad I was able to do so well. Overall I think this was one of my best showcases throughout my two years.
