One of the things I learned while researching is that I would want to actively go back and listen to recordings from the original song, and listen to the roles of the instruments that are being used and why they would be used, what emotion do they create and why would artist add that instrument in and effect would tht instrument would have on the song, not only that, it could help with the arrangement of the song.
How this could apply to me is studying what key I place my song covers in, will I keep it the same as the original. or will I play it in a higher or lower key to suit my range. Decisions like these could make or break a performance in general, and it is not often something I found myself thinking about. Not only that, I tend to find that I sound a lot better with piano recorded tracks, not guitar. When I finish this term with my Live performances, I want to be able to have the knowledge of what key I will play my songs in, and what instruments would best be used for that song in particular, to bring out the best performance.
The songs I will pick I could study what instruments I will needs for those songs, and it could greatly improve the understanding of the people who will be playing instruments for me, so they will be able to play beside me in the best way, and know how to perform the song to best suit my ability, and create originality.
