Adele Adkins Research

I will be researching Adele Adkins because she is relevant to my current project, and I created a cover/music video using her song. With performing one of her songs, I feel like its important to understand who she is, and why she wrote the song, and why the song is important. This will help me to understand more about the artist and the song, so I can form a connection to the song and sing with emotion. And it also helps me to learn why the song was so successful.

Who’s is Adele Adkins?

Adele Laurie Blue Adkins is a singer and songwriter from the United Kingdom. On May 5, 1988, she was born. She is one of the most successful performers in the world, having sold over 120 million CDs. After graduating from the BRIT School of Arts in 2006, Adele signed a record deal with XL Recordings. Her debut album, 19, was released in 2008, and her singles “Chasing Pavements” and “Make You Feel My Love” both charted in the UK’s top five. The album was certified 8 platinum and triple platinum in the United Kingdom. Adele was named Best New Artist at both the Brit Awards and the Grammy Awards.

What is the meaning of Adele’s Song and why is it important?

The song is considered a country-style ballad, and it was added late to the album when a more contemplative Adele (who had been struggling with her emotions toward her ex-boyfriend, who inspired most of the album’s songs) became increasingly aware of how her bitterness toward the break-up negatively coloured her perception of her former lover. “I managed to come out of the bitter mentality that I was in when I was composing the record and I suddenly feel incredibly humiliated and disgusted with the manner in which I was presenting someone who was really important to me,” the singer said in an interview. I felt like a child because I had made him out to be such a jerk.” Adele went on to say that The song is described as a “simply trying to recall why you liked someone in the first place” country-style ballad.

Adele – Don’t you Remeber.

The song is both a confession of her flaws the lines “I know I have a fickle heart/And a bitterness/And a wandering eye/And a sadness in my head”. In the song she pleads to her ex-husband to remember why he fell in love with her in the first place. She has also revealed that the song is about wondering if her ex-lover felt awful about why he dumped her, and that her feelings for him were significant because she would lose it if he did not respond to her text within 10 seconds. (She giggled when she said this.) She’s also said that hearing the song is sometimes like discovering music for the first time. Adele later explained the song’s meaning to The Sun, saying: “You know when you forget why you loved someone? I was just thinking about how my entire body would just shiver if my ex touched me to say hello. It’s sad when you can’t remember why you loved someone.”

After researching this, it’s clear to see why the song was created. I believe it’s improtant to know about the meanings behind the songs that you’re going to perform, and make videos on which tell a story. This will help me when creating content for my music videos, and it will help me to have an emotional connection to the song that I’m singing so I will have a better performance. Adele’s songs always have an amazing unique way of creating emotion in anyone who listens to her music. This song in partcilar, has a lot of emotional lines for me, so it’s really easy for me to perform this song well.
