This is my song analysis of the song ‘I want to hold your hand’ by The Beatles a rock band with a large influence throughout the ’60s that revolutionized music as we know it today.
-First, we are going to discuss the tempo of the song, the tempo of the song is relatively fast throughout the entire rock song, in music the fast tempo is called ALLEGRO.
-Next, I’m going to discuss the meter of the song. The meter is beats timing in music, {the timing of beats that determine the time signature} and this song has a four-beat pattern means that the song is a 4/4 time signature.
-The mood/feel of the song is a rather happy joyful tone. The artist is communicating this by choosing a bright melody and a fast tempo. The lyrics also support this feeling. A happy mood usually means that the song is in a major key. And the song happens to be written in E major.
-The instrumentation I heard is 2 guitars, 1 drum set (percussion), and 1 bass. along with their voices. The song also had included clapping.
-The texture is homophonic because there is only one main melody or tune that is being accompanied by other instruments and voices in the form of the song.
-The style of this song is what we what was called British pop-rock from the ’60s.
