Weekly Evaluations

week 1:

In week one, we looked at several different lyric writing techniques and then we came up with a basic structure of our song to try and get inspiration for real thing. This was our first idea:

Week 2:

In week 2, we started working on a stronger melody on guitar and piano and seeing how we can incorporate both so it sounds good but also even. We started recording most of the guitar stuff and put it into reaper so we had a basic melody to follow with the piano and lyrics.

week 3:

In weeks 3, I began recording my piano parts using audacity and then sent them over to Abi so she could add them into the mix, alongside the guitar. Then, we started seeing what guitar solo would work for the little break and re-arranged the song a little by adding in a break and the solo.

week 4:

In week 4, I started helping Lucy with lyrics whilst Abi mixed the piano and guitar parts together. As we had a basic melody down with the piano and guitar, Abi talked about adding a drum beat and some bass.

week 5:

Whilst Abi worked on the drum beat and mixed, me and Lucy worked on lyrics so we could try and get vocals recorded, as they were pretty much the only bits left to record.

week 6:

In week 6, Abi did the final touches to the mix, Lucy recorded the lyrics she had left to do and I did write-ups. This is the final mix:
