Monday –
We wasn’t in college today so I just need to try and figure out how to change the timing from 5/4 to 4/4.
Tuesday –
I got help with putting that section into 4/4 and then I also started to develop the left hand a little more, so it wasn’t just playing chords. With more movement in the left hand, it helps build on tension and allows more emotion to come through. My tutors and I spoke about maybe changing the visuals to a live performance look, instead of the edit or using both the live performance look and edit. I think I’m going to do a bit of both because I can fade in and out of the live video, into the edit and then that way, the edit wasn’t wasted because it allows variation in what they’re seeing. Plus, the edit might form different emotions that the live performance doesn’t. However, due to time, I think for the show, it’ll just be the live video and then the edit + the live video will be posted separately. This is like having 2 different versions of it really, which is really cool to say.
Friday –
I’m happy with the structure and how far the piece has come so far, but I feel like it lacks a lot of emotions. I think if I maybe develop the dynamics and use a wider range, instead of staying around middle c, it might invoke more emotions. For example, I could start below middle c and then work up and then drop back down to around middle C. Another way to provoke more emotions, is that I could start off really quiet and then go really loud into almost silence, the juxtapositions speaks loud volumes when it goes from one end of the scale to the next, like from really loud to silent.
