Monday –
Today was teacher training so we wan’t in today. However, I spent the a little bit of time just looking through the edit and seeing how it was flowing, to see if I had any opportunities to get more footage that might fit better or if it was starting to provoke any emotions, which I wrote down so that I could keep them in mind when I was composing on the piano. I also tried to get some more nighttime footage because I didn’t have any yet.
Tuesday –
I had college today, so I couldn’t get anymore footage that I needed, so I moved onto working on the composition instead. I was using Logic because it was easier to keep a log of all my ideas, because all I had to do was record them in, and because Logic has a lot of different sounds that I was playing around with. I was jut kind of playing around in different octaves and creating a lot of different little melodies that I liked because it was just fuelling my inspiration for the edit. I got a lot of different melodies that I liked recorded into Logic so I could refer back to them if I was ever stuck for inspiration.
Friday –
Although I’ve made a lot of progress, with all the different little melodies and multiple idea options I have, it all just sounds too jumpy and separated. Because I have a lot of different melodies, I just feel like they all sound like they’re from different compositions and that they don’t really go together, it’s like they jus form 1 idea to the next instead of flowing. So, I need to try and come up with something that sounds like they’re transitioning into each other.
