Project Title: Composing to a video edit |
Section 1: Rationale |
In project 2, we composed over a video of several different time lapses compiled together to create an atmosphere and guide people’s emotions using the music we created. That project taught me how to create sheet music, read sheet music a little better and it taught me how to use music to create an atmosphere whilst telling the story. I really liked that idea and I’d like to expand and use the new skills that that project taught me. Project 3 and 4 also taught me how to work collaboratively with others so this will give me a good chance to work on those skills and push my communication skills. |
Section 2: Project Concept |
I’m aiming to create a video edit using my own, and my friends, time lapses/videos/pictures of pretty scenery and sunsets/rises to compose over, using piano and guitar, which my friend is playing guitar for me, and then put them both together to tell a story using just imagery and music. The resources I’ll be needing throughout the whole project are: my friends who are helping me, pictures/videos/time lapses, my phone/iPad/laptop, editing apps and a piano. I’m hoping to get around four time lapses for each section, so in total it’ll be sixteen time lapses. Each section will be around a minute long, so that’s a total of five minutes. The final product will be posted to YouTube. |
Section 3: Evaluation |
I will be documenting weekly on my digital space, using photos and videos if I can, as well as going into in depth details about any problems that occurred and how I find a solution etc. Many problems can occur when working with others, like they might not be able to get their part down in time but then I could move on and come back to that section when they have it down. I aim to have all the footage I need within two weeks and then make the edit in a week and then begin to compose to it, which should only take three weeks at the maximum so then I have time to sync them together. |
