10/1/22 – I began brainstorming some ideas and different techniques and sounds I might want for my EP. I started by just sitting at the piano and playing what ever I felt and then I wrote and recorded the ideas I liked. Here is my very first idea:
Whilst I didn’t actually end up using this idea, I did end up using a similar kind of movement, the soft and delicate kind of movement.
27/1/22 – Again, I was just sat at the piano trying to create melodies and chord progressions that I liked and I found an idea that I wanted to use for my second composition.
I liked the idea of the piece moving and not just staying in one place. I wanted to try and incorporate some scale movements, possibly descending. The ending of the last video was actually me just playing around with it and trying to figure out how I wanted the next section to sound how I was going to develop the piece.
9/2/22 – I found the idea that I later would develop into my solo piano piece.
15/2/22 – Me and Isaac were waiting for our piano lessons to start and we were just playing around on the piano and guitar but we created a chord progression that we really liked and we developed the basic structure and idea down in that little session so we decided to develop it a little further and keep it for my EP.
19/2/22 – I came up with the idea to try and create a Latin piece around the Montuno. I already knew I wanted to use Latin Percussion but the Montuno made me think of just doing an entirely Latin piece and really stepping outside of my comfort zone.
21/2/22 – Today I started trying to brainstorm some EP names so I could get a clearer idea of what vibe I was really going for.
4/3/22 – Today, I wrote up all of my problem solving that I’ve done so far so that I didn’t get too far behind with my written before we actually started the project. I’ve been taking photos and videos of my writing development so that I don’t forget the development as I go. I also started designing and creating the logo design for Dandelions, the Deershed band.
