The first song we ran through was “Somebody Told Me – The killers”, which we had to do several takes of. Throughout the takes, we couldn’t get the keyboard to play, and it kept cutting out when we did, so in this song, there’s little to no keys. The song feels a little rushed but I think that’s just because it was very nerve racking having to stand up there and perform in front of people we didn’t know for the first time. However, everyone stuck to playing and carried on so the whole performance was carried through and hopefully you wouldn’t have been able to tell there were many mistakes unless you actually knew the song or had heard one of our better performances of it.

This was “Moving To New York – The Wombats” and overall this was very successful. Everyone played their parts correctly and in time so it was carried out very well. However, there was a lot of feedback in certain parts which made the song sound very messy but we still carried on and just pretended like that didn’t happen.

This is another one of our takes on “Somebody Told Me – The Killers” and this one did sound a lot cleaner so it’s like each time we play it, there’s an improvement. Again, the keys still didn’t work so that was the only unsuccessful part really. Also, in a lot of the videos, the audio keeps cutting out and going very faint so maybe the camera should be propped up by something so the mic doesn’t accidentally get covered during our real performance.

This is “Clocks – Coldplay” and a lot of this performance was good but there are a few thing’s we need to fix. The keys rushed a lot, in the beginning and in the little break part, which made the song seem a little messy so that needs to be smoothed out and stick to the timings. Vocal harmonies sounded a little off so maybe work on harmonising together because they both sound very apart at the minute.

Overall, I think we have a good set if we smoothen out timings and harmonies. I’d also say that there needs to be more confidence in the people that can move around like the guitarist, bassist and singer, especially in “Moving To New York” because it’s such a lively song that the stage should be lively too. We need to try smoothen out endings so it ends in a clean way.

However, we all carried on even when parts got messy or there was feedback so during the real performance we could definitely pull off a good performance. We need to work on how we’re going to be speaking in between the songs so that we have time to prepare for the next songs without the audience getting bored but we have been practicing that so we should be all good for the real thing.
