In the summer of 2015, Demi Lovato performed in LA at KIIS FM’S pool party. Whilst singing on stage, several people were in the pool and splashing about which then made the stage dangerously slippery. Whilst not only performing on a slippery stage, she was also wearing heels so she wouldn’t be as stage as she would have been if she wore flats. Demi slipped and face-planted the group before standing up and jumping into the pool herself. Whilst she played it off, this was incredibly dangerous as she was performing with electrical equipment, whilst right next to a pool, and in heels.

In conclusion, I think it was extremely hazardous to perform right in front of a pool because if the water splashed over to the electrics, it could have also caused a fire or electrocution. The stage was slippery when it should have been ensured it was dry to minimalize the risks of the performers falling on stage. Although it was a cool idea, it wasn’t very safe.

On many different occasions, Shawn Mendes has fallen on and off stage. Whilst this is funny, it can also be very dangerous and you could seriously injure yourself. Many times it has been incredibly dark so he can’t really see where the stage ends or it’s just not been very well lit so he stumbles.

To fix this, you could light up the stairs for the stage and also tape, possibly in white tape, where the stage ends so he doesn’t fall off the end. Although, some people are just incredibly clumsy, there are ways in which to minimalize it being the stages fault such as good lighting so they can see a little better when moving around.

In 2017, P!nk performed in Germany. She attempted to do a stage stunt but she wasn’t properly harnessed in so when she attempted a slingshot, she catapulted straight into the barricades. She ended up needing an X-ray as she was rushed to hospital.

Although she joked about it tweeting “hope it looked cool”, P!nk was still injured to the point of needing to be rushed into hospital and even having several X-rays. The dancers should have definitely been able harness P!nk in quickly and sufficiently but they obviously didn’t. However, the people on the controls of the harness should have signalled that something wasn’t right. In order to fix this, you need to train the dancers to be able to harness her in properly and quickly so maybe turn the lights up so they can see and make sure everything is where it’s all supposed to be.

In 2017, Marilyn Manson was performing when he went to push the gun prop back up straight before it fell on top of him, crushing his fibula and breaking it. As a result, Manson ended up needing a plate and 10 screws in his fibula as it broke in 2 places. As the crew ran on to help him, he looked almost unconscious as he limped off stage in excruciating pain.

This was extremely bad because Manson was severely injure to the extent that he even had to reschedule his tour dates. This could have easily have been avoided if the prop was held up so it was more stable. There should have been a lot more safety precautions taken such as securing the prop on stage. Risk assessment obviously weren’t taken as well as they should have been because Manson was seriously hurt.

In a 2011 performance, Lady Gaga was performing in Houston when she decided to stand on the piano. She ended up falling off and onto the floor as the stool fell onto it’s side.

Although she wasn’t hurt, Gaga probably didn’t inform her team that she’d stand on her piano and there for they couldn’t have taken any safety precautions. In the future, Gaga will need to run through her performance so they can see what she will be doing and they can ensure that it’s all safe so that she doesn’t get injured.
