Why?
This research is because I wanted a visual aspect to my EP so I wanted to design a canvas, a moving image that loops on Spotify as the track plays.
Requirements:
3-8 second long video
URLs and CTAs are prohibited.
9:6 ratio, at least 720px tall, an MP4 or JPEG file (Canvas content policy – Spotify for Artists 2022)
Uploading through Spotify for Artists Desktop:
Go to the website, select “Music” at the top of the bar, select your track, click “Add Canvas” at the top right, drag the file you want into the box, tick the boxes for terms and conditions, don’t shut down the page until it’s uploaded (could take up to 10 minutes). It can take up to an hour for listeners to see it so I need to upload two hours prior to my release just in case there are any issues. (YouTube. 2022. Spotify Canvas â )

Promotional tip:
Click the three dots at the top right of the track and share it to social media, it’ll play the track with the canvas in the background. (How To Promote Your Music On Spotify In 2022)
