Week 7

Monday –

Like I said on Friday, I need to develop the emotional expression of the piece because, even though it’s a beautiful piece, I don’t feel like it’s invoking what I want it to. Then, I need to start trying to get it recorded because I only have until next Friday to get my live performance video done, which I need my live piano recording done to be able to do the live video. However, because I’m petty much done, I’m toying with the idea of also trying to make some sheet music to accompany the piece. I changed my initial plan of adding strings because I don’t really have time and I feel like the piano carries more emotion than the strings could add to, I also don’t want to add too much and take away the focus from the piano. Not adding strings, now allows me to have the piano timing in more of a Roberto feel. If I do end up doing sheet music, it’ll be really beneficial to me because It’ll help me understand sheet music better so I can try and read it a little faster too, it’ll also be cool because then other people can play my piano composition.

Tuesday –

I’ve got 4 decent takes that I’m happy with, so now I can focus on my video edit for the second version and I can practicing miming to it soon. However, I need to wait a little bit, for the mastered version, before practicing miming to it because the takes have a few errors that need to be fixed up first.

Friday –

Today, I was practicing miming along to my piano composition so I’m prepared for next weeks live video recording. I found that I was struggling to keep in time with the piece a little so I need to sit back and just listen, first, and then I can play along to it because I know when to come in. If I count how long the breaks are, it’ll be more accurate when I play along to it for the video.
