Monday –
I was trying to solve this issue of it feeling like they were separate compositions into 1, by picking out my favourite ideas and just keeping those in. This started out well, I was rearranging them until I felt they fit together, however, they didn’t all fit as smoothly as I would’ve liked so I’m going to have to try and come up with some transition melody or something.
Tuesday –
I was working on trying to make the piece just flow on its own again today, and I have a good old minute, but it just doesn’t seem to be flowing like I want it to. Sometimes, it still sounds really jumpy and like the idea is from an entirely different piano composition or something. I don’t really understand how to fix it so I think I’m just going to keep playing around with it, or maybe ask for help.
Friday –
Today, I asked for some help and got suggested to move onto an actual piano. I picked out 2 of my favourite ideas to work on and then moved to an actual piano and just started playing around those little motifs. This way of working was way more effective because I felt like it just flowed better, it didn’t sound jumpy or like they were from different compositions because I was playing as it came to mind. I ended up getting a lot of different ideas down that I just need to develop a little bit further but I know I’ll be able to do it and to a higher standard this way.
